Presence of mind - Be smart

Once there was a young professional who was preparing himself for an interview. He went for the interview in a company and while the process was taking place, the interviewer said "I'll ask you either 10 easy questions or one difficult question. Take your time and make up your mind."

The boy thought for a while and politely said "I will choose one difficult question". "Okay, now you have made your choice so good luck," said the interviewer, "So tell me what comes first Day or night?" he continued.

The boy was surprised by his question as his selection was dependent upon this one question, thinking for a bit moment he replied: "Day comes first, Sir."

The interviewer asked, "How?". The boy said "Sorry Sir, but you made a pact of only one difficult question not another one."

Amazed by his answer, the interviewer was impressed and he was selected.

Moral - You need to be aware of yourself and situations. Just gaining bookish knowledge about your field won't help you in the process of success, sometimes your knowledge is measured by the way you handle the situation and how you use your presence of mind to tackle the difficult one.
