Power Of Unity - Moral Short Story

Once upon a time, there was an old man who lived with his three sons. The three sons were hard-working but unfortunately, they used to quarrel among themselves. The old man tried to unite them but nothing worked. Villagers used to praise their hard work but also used to make fun of them.

One day the old man got sick, he told all of his three sons to stop fighting among them but none of them listened. So the old man thought of teaching them a practical lesson. He summoned his three sons in front of him and gave them a bundle of sticks. He then said, "Separate this sticks and break them into two halves, the one who can do it will get a reward." On hearing this, all three sons started separating the sticks and broke them into two pieces. After doing that they were still quarrelling about who did it first.

The old man then said, "The game is not over. Now I'll give a bundle of sticks again and you have to break them as a bundle without separating."

The three sons agreed and started using their energy to break the sticks. They failed to complete the task and told the old man.

The old man then replied, "Dear sons, you could easily break sticks by separating them but when it comes to a bundle you couldn't do it. Because when you combine, it's difficult to break their unity with the strength. If all three of you stay united, no force can harm you."

Moral - Not all the walks in life we have to walk alone. There will be times when you need to work with someone and in unity. Also your family and siblings are your biggest strength. Keep them in your life and heart.
