If you are rejected in career - Be positive

There was a big company holding reputations with a hardworking employee. One day the company decided to put a promotion to his employees. On hearing this, David who is an employee working at the company went up to his boss to put his name in the hat for the promotion. When he talked about his promotion with his boss, his boss said “Yours don’t seem to be a good fit according to our numbers”. David was confused and replied, “I have been working for years spending 60 to 70 hours a week and I have been the hardest worker here”. To which his boss agreed and said “We love your work ethic but we feel you are not fit for this job, we need numbers.”. David was sad and then he left his office by saying thank you to his boss.

2 years later, David showed by a resident from his car and he saw his boss standing there. When he got down from his car, his boss with a puzzled expression greeted David and asked him how he was doing. David replied, “I started my own company and I’m loving what I do and it was all because of you who made me realize that I wasn’t fit for what I was doing and that was not the right thing to do.” His boss was surprised by his words and he realized what David was capable of.

Moral - Sometimes in life you are rejected because life wants to show you how much more capable you are. Things don’t always go according to how you want and you need to face the rejections when it comes your way, just to know that somethings are not for you and you will find solace in your pain. Rejection will be the point where you need to ask yourself whether you are opening the correct door or someone else’s door.
