When you take risks in life, you're doing two things. One, you take a chance and two, you believe. For the first one, you need to be knowledgeable about the subject you're taking risk in. For the second, you need to be an optimist, believe in yourself or believe in your fate.
Risks are big plunges in life that can get you 10 steps ahead but then these can also make you fall behind by 20 steps. A person takes risks because risks can speed up one's journey, can get you to farther places in lesser time. However, one must be very cautious. because over confidence or lack of proper judgement could ruin what one already has. It's like jumping from one cliff to another on a motor bike. One must go in with appropriate knowledge, experience and confidence because if you succeed you'll see a beautiful scenery ahead. But if you don't, you'll be stuck up in the rocks wounded or worst, dead!
