We all have preconceived notions about other people and sometimes we don't tend to believe what the other person demonstrates. We tend to accept what the other person claims to be in order to build trust with them.
It is easy to get swayed by our feelings to build a connection with a person. In that process, we tend to ignore other people's behavior in order to validate our notion that they are good.
