Bil Keane is celebrated the humorous side of family life in the lighthearted one-panel comic The Family Circus, and eventually appeared in nearly 1,500 newspapers.
he began working for the Philadelphia Bulletin newspaper as an errand boy. While serving in World War II, Keane was a staff member of the army newspaper Stars and Stripes, for which he created his first panel series, At Ease with the Japanese.
